Dr Louis Papaelias

I was born in Perth and grew up locally. I studied medicine at the University of WA and graduated in 1975. I went on to complete additional studies where I became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of GP’s and have practised as a General Practitioner since 1979.

I have been with Third Avenue Surgery since 1983, where I began as one of the original founding doctors alongside Alla Sakalo. I have completed additional studies in Obstetrics and delivered babies as a GP Obstetrician for many years. At present, my main area of interest is in all aspects of general practice. I visit aged care facilities to look after my patients twice a week and I am also fluent in Greek and basic Italian. I also enjoy working for GP After Hours Mount Lawley, our division of after-hours emergency care.

I am a member of the AMA and RACGP and my deep love of wine has led me to write the occasional wine article for the Medical Forum Magazine. I am happily married with two grown children and two grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, reading, listening to music, occasional cooking and roasting coffee and weekend solitude time in our holiday home in Denmark where I can ‘clear my head’.
