Zero tolerance

Our staff are here to help you but they have the right to work in a safe environment! Third Avenue Surgery is committed to resolving any problems or queries that you may have, but we are also committed to the care and protection of our employees against abusive, aggressive, violent or any other kinds of threatening or intimidating behaviours. We have a zero-tolerance approach to this behaviour and will not hesitate to take criminal and or civil action when appropriate, your actions may result in you being requested to find an alternative Primary health care provider service. Please be kind!

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders

Our practice welcomes all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our doctors are happy to work with Aboriginal Health Workers in the delivery of comprehensive health care in Aboriginal contexts.

Quality Improvement Activities

Our practice engages in quality improvement and incorporates systems of continuous improvement. We regularly review our services, systems and processes to find opportunities and make the necessary changes to increase quality and safety for patients.

Clinical Risk Management System

Our practice has a clinical risk management system to enhance the quality and safety of our patient care.

Medical Students

Teaching Medical Students is an important part of a doctor’s duty. Our doctors may have a medical student sitting in during your visit. You will of course be notified beforehand when there is a student present. You have the right to refuse without prejudice.

Drug Companies

The doctors at this practice do not receive any money, expensive gifts or holiday trips from any drug companies.

Using Social Media in our Practice

‘Social media’ is defined as online social networks used to disseminate information through online interaction. Third Avenue Surgery social medial platform is Facebook.

Regardless of whether social media is used for business related activity or for personal reasons, standards apply to members of our Practice team, including general practitioners. Practitioners and team members are legally responsible for their postings online.

Practitioners and team members may be subject to liability and disciplinary action including termination of employment or contract if their posts are found to be in breach of this policy.

This platform is not to be used for ongoing communication with patients such as queries and or bookings, or anything of an urgent nature.  Facebook is not monitored on a regular basis.

If you have a problem or suggestion, we would like to hear about it.

If you would like to register your complaint externally: The Health and Disability Services Complaints Office: is an independent statutory authority that handles complaints relating to health and disability services in Western Australia.

The Office of the Information Commissioner (WA):

administers the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (WA) which includes some privacy principles related to the disclosure and amendment of personal information held by Western Australian State and local government agencies.
