Dr Gwendolyn Wu

I grew up in Singapore and came to Australia to further my tertiary education following which I then completed my medical degree at the University of Queensland. I then decided to move to Perth to do my internship, have a change of scenery and be closer to family.

Working in several hospitals and areas including Royal Perth Hospital, King Edward Memorial Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital helped me to make the decision that General Practice was the path for me. The ability to care for patients in a holistic manner, across generations from birth to end of life is what pulled me to General Practice and is what I enjoy doing to this day.

I enjoy all aspects of General Practice and am particularly drawn to Paediatrics, Travel Medicine, Women’s Health and Antenatal Care and Palliative Care. A good work life balance, I believe is important to being a good practitioner and I find travelling, photography and hiking are amongst the many things that I try to do that helps me keep this balance.

I have found it to be a privilege working with the group of dedicated and passionate Doctors at Third Avenue Surgery and I am glad to be able to share with them their vision to continue to provide the best care possible to our community.
