We are a private billing practice and we kindly ask that all accounts be settled on the day of your consult.
Fees are based on time taken, complexity of your consultation and treatment required.
We bulk bill children under 1 year of age.
All new patients are charged the full private fee for their first visit.
We offer discounted fees for Pension card holders and Healthcare cardholders, after their first visit. Department of Veterans Affairs is billed directly to DVA as applicable.
There is strictly no bulk billing from 5pm or on weekends and public holidays for any patients.
All consults are by appointment only. Please phone the surgery for routine appointments from 8am Monday to Saturday. Urgent medical problems will be dealt with promptly. Online appointments are available with selected Drs.
If you have more than one issue to discuss, require a Care Plan, Mental Health Plan or second opinion, please book a longer appointment. (30 minutes) This ensures that your problem will get the attention it deserves. Please inform reception when making your appointment.
If more than one person from your family wishes to see the Dr at the same time, please make a separate appointment for each member.
If you are a new patient, please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time as new patient forms will need to be completed prior to seeing the Dr.
You will need to book an appointment with the Nurse if you require an Immunisation, wound care, ear syringes as well as other some other procedures. Nurses’ appointments are not able to be booked online so please call the practice to make an appropriate appointment.
Whilst we endeavour to run on time delays can sometimes occur. If time is a concern, we encourage you to phone before your appointment to check your Drs progress.
Please let us know if you are unable to keep your appointment. We would appreciate 2 hours’ notice for any cancellations, so that we may offer other patients this consult.
Missed Appointments and cancellations less than 2 hours before appointment time will be charged.
The Government has recently increased bulk billing incentives, but these payments still don’t cover the full cost of providing high-quality care at this practice.
To continue offering you the time, attention and services you deserve, we charge a fee for most consultations.
Our standard fee is less than the AMA recommended fee and does consider the CPI increase.

There may be extra costs additional to your consultation. In cases of Urine and Blood testing, Xrays, Ultrasounds, Scans and further investigation by Specialists costs are generated by the Service Provider and are separate to Third Avenue Surgery billing.
Extra costs additional to your consultation that may be incurred within the surgery include, but are not limited to: suturing, procedures, vaccines, pregnancy testing and some non-routine medical supplies.

We can also process your Medicare rebate at payment.
For medico-legal and patient safety reasons, repeat prescriptions will usually only be provided if you have had a consultation with one of the doctors in the last 6 months.
Certain medications require regular review and may not be re-issued without an appointment. Our doctors reserve the right to request a consultation before issuing a prescription.
A fee is charged for repeat scripts where a consultation is not needed. At least 24hrs notice is required.
An administration fee applies when medical records are transferred to another practice. This covers staff time, doctor review and secure transfer.
Please note: Medicare does not cover the cost of transferring notes.
